I Learned a Lesson

Queer / 50-59 / White / Christian

When I was born in the fall of 1966, I was two months early. I new something was wrong but I was too you young to figure out what it was. When I was a little older, my aunt told me I was supposed to be a girl.. At first I thought she just a little nutty.

Growing up in the same bed with my brother I knew he was gay and I was straight. As I got older I realized that if I was attracted to girls that I couldn’t be one.. living in Indiana I couldn’t dress as woman and not survive. As I grew older I got married and had 3 kids.

So here I am at 52 I’m attracted to women, trans woman, trans men and androgynous men and women. I recently came out to my ex and my kids and my kids still love me. I might not be living as a woman, but I embrace my feminine side. The lesson I learned to be myself.
